Corn and Bacon Casserole

Ingredients

300 g corn, canned
150 g bacon, diced.
onion, chopped
2 tbsp flour
200 ml milk
egg yolk
3 slice(s) toast, diced
150 g freshly grated Cheddar cheese
  butter
  salt and pepper

Method

Preparation time: ca. 30 min / Cooking / Baking Time: ca. 30 min / Grade of difficulty: medium / Calories per portion: n/a

Drain the corn. Sauté the bacon in a greased pan and transfer into a greased baking dish. Brown the bread cubes in the same pan, then combine them with the bacon.

Sauté the onions. Deglaze with milk and stir in the flour. Season with salt and pepper. and cook stirring for 5 minutes. Then whisk in the egg yolk and add the corn and simmer for another minute.

Pour the mixture into the baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in the preheated oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes.
