Ingredients

1 kg potatoes, peeled and halved
1 small onion, sliced
3 tsp salt
2 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
5 tsp ground cumin
2 pinch(es) chili powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tbsp olive oil
500 g tomatoes, peeled and chopped
300 g peas, frozen, thawed

Method

Preparation time: ca. 5 min / Cooking / Baking Time: ca. 35 min / Grade of difficulty: medium / Calories per portion: 250 kcal

Boil the potatoes in slightly salted water for about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, sauté the onions in olive oil and stir in turmeric, cumin powder, chili powder and cumin seeds. Cook stirring for some minutes. Add the peeled and halved potatoes and stir until well coated with the spices. Add the tomatoes and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes. Stir in the peas, cover and cook for another few minutes.

Serve with Basmati rice and freshly baked Indian Naan bread.
