Ingredients

1 kg pears, peeled, cored and halved
150 g soft butter
150 g sugar
3 medium eggs
300 g flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 dash(es) cinnamon
1 dash(es) nutmeg
125 ml milk
100 g walnuts, chopped
100 g chocolate, chopped
  lemon juice
1 tbsp rum
  butter
  icing sugar

Method

Preparation time: ca. 20 min / Grade of difficulty: easy / Calories per portion: n/a

Whisk the butter and the sugar until creamy. Beat in the eggs. Sift in the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour in the milk and the rum. Add the chocolate and the nuts. Knead until well combined.

Preheat the oven to 180° C. Sprinkle the pears with the lemon juice. Line a buttered cake form with the dough. Lightly press in the pear halves. Bake for 40-50 minutes.

Serve the cake dusted with icing sugar.
