Chinese Style Sake Duck

Ingredients

350 g duck breast, cut into stripes
4 slice(s) canned pineapple, diced
300 ml sake
150 ml water
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp cornflour
1 tbsp water
8 small Maraschino cherries

Method

In a saucepan, combine the sake, water and duck breast. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Stir in the soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of the pineapple juice from the can. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the pineapples and Maraschino cherries and simmer for 2 more minutes. Season to taste with soy sauce and pineapple juice.

Serve with rice.
