Ingredients

1 1/2 kg potaotes
  salt and pepper
2 large onions
1.2 kg minced meat, beef and pork
6 tbsp breadcrumbs
5 tbsp tomato puree
eggs
bell peppers, red and green
200 g Cheddar cheese, grated
 some thyme
portions

Method

Preparation time: ca. 25 min / Cooking / Baking Time: ca. 40 min / Grade of difficulty: easy / Calories per portion: 577 kcal

Preheat the oven to 200°C/Gas Mark 3-4.

Peel and thinly slice the potatoes. Cook the potatoes in salted water for 5 minutes, then drain.

Finely dice the onions. Mix together the minced meat, onions, breadcrumbs, tomato purée and eggs. Seed and dice the bell peppers and mix them into the minced meat. Season with salt and pepper and mix well.

Place the potatoes in a greased casserole dish (30*40cm), cover with the minced meat and sprinkle with cheese. Transfer the casserole into the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes.

Serve the Minced Meat and Potato Casserole garnished with chopped thyme leaves.
