Chocolate Hearts

Makes one baking tray

Ingredients

140 g butter
130 g sugar
2 medium eggs yolks
150 g wheat flour
100 g wholemeal wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp cocoa powder
bar of chocolate

Method

Preparation time: ca. 30 min / Grade of difficulty: medium / Calories per portion: n/a

Cream together butter and sugar. Stir in the yolks. Mix flour, baking powder and cocoa and sieve on top. Knead to a dough, wrap the dough into cling film and place in the fridge for 30 minutes.

On a floured working place roll out the dough (not too thin). Cut out hearts. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place half of the hearts on the baking tray and put a chunk of chocolate on top of each heart. Cover each heart with a second heart and combine the edges by pressing with your fingers. Bake for 10 minutes at 200°C. Let cool on a wire rack.

After baking they are still very soft, but will become harder when cooled.
