Ingredients

250 g lean minced beef
250 g lean minced beef
3 tbsp breadcrumbs
1 small onion, grated
1 large egg
30 ml milk
30 g butter, melted
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp nutmeg, grated
  freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp vegetable oil
portions

Method

Preparation time: ca. 15 min / Grade of difficulty: easy / Calories per portion: n/a

Ensure the meats are well mixed together in a food processor. Add the remaining ingredients except milk, butter and oil. Add enough milk to give a soft, but cohesive, mixture.

Using a tablespoon dipped into the melted butter, shape into small pointed rugby balls. Fry in the remaining butter heated with the oil until browned and cooked through.

Serve hot with boiled potatoes or a potato salad, or cold, sliced on a piece of rye bread with pickled cucumber, lettuce and a dab of mayonnaise.

Hi,
This looks interesting:-) but what should the other meat be? pork or Lamb? I think beef plus beef may just be a bit samey and, having started to read your many excellent recipes, not what you intended!!
many thanks

Thanks, Haze, that was a real clanger, which not only was mistyped by me, but was also missed by the CU staff who check out the recipes submitted.

The other 250 g is of pork.

I will ask them to correct it!

Glad you enjoyed the recipes I have submitted - every one has been tried before submission, so they are all edible!

Best wishes,

A.
