Ingredients

180 g flour
50 g suet
50 g red currants
 some nutmeg, grated
1 pinch(es) salt
  milk
  To serve:
  Demerara sugar
  butter
portions

Method

Preparation time: ca. 10 min / Grade of difficulty: easy / Calories per portion: n/a

Mix all of the ingredients with enough milk to produce a stiff dough. Cut into four pieces and form into rounds; flatten rounds.

Dip each piece in flour, then drop into a saucepan of boiling water and cook for about 20 minutes.

Serve hot, together with a spoonful of demerara sugar and a bit of butter on each.
