Ingredients

170 g plain flour
200 g sugar
1/2 tsp salt
120 ml boiling water
120 ml semi-skimmed milk
60 g butter
20 g chocolate powder
1/2 tsp mixed spices
1/2 tsp baking powder

Method

Preparation time: ca. 15 min Resting time: ca. 10 hrs / Grade of difficulty: easy / Calories per portion: n/a

Preheat oven 150°C.

Use an electric mixer to cream butter and sugar. Add the milk and mix. Slowly add sifted flour, followed by baking powder, salt, chocolate powder and mixed spice. Continue to mix for a further 2 minutes then stir in water using a spoon.

Place in oven and allow to cook for 25-35 minutes.
