Ingredients

600 g minced beef
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 clove(s) garlic, minced
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp tomato puree
1 tsp English mustard
80 g mushrooms, chopped
300 ml ale
400 g puff pastry
  milk, for glazing

Method

Preparation time: ca. 20 min / Grade of difficulty: easy / Calories per portion: n/a

Brown the beef in oil over low heat in a pan. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in the flour and tomato puree and cook a further 2 minutes. Add the mustard, mushrooms and brown ale. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Cool.

Turn the mixture into a pie dish.

Roll the pastry out so that it covers the pie dish. Press firmly onto the dish and brush with milk to glaze.

Preheat oven to 200°C.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pie is golden.
