Ingredients

500 g plum tomatoes, peeled
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 clove(s) garlic, crushed
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 tbsp olive oil
200 ml white wine
1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
  salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

Method

Preparation time: ca. 10 min / Grade of difficulty: easy / Calories per portion: n/a

Gently fry the onion and garlic with a bit of oil until softened.

Add the tomatoes, the tomato puree and white wine. Simmer for about 15 minutes until thickened. Stir occasionally.

Add basil and season to taste.

This tomato sauce is very versatile: simply add canned fish or defrosted seafood to make a richer sauce for your favourite pasta.
