Ingredients

4 medium eggs, whites only
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
200 g sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Method

Preparation time: ca. 20 min / Grade of difficulty: easy / Calories per portion: n/a

In a bowl beat egg whites until foamy. Add lemon juice and beat until fluffy. Gradually add sugar and mix well until sugar is dissolved.

Using two spoons, scoop teaspoonful portions onto parchment lined cookie sheet.

Preheat oven to 150°C. Bake for about 20 minutes until set. Cool completely.

For storage place into airtight containers between foil or wax paper.

Note: Prepare meringues in any shape you wish by using a pastry tube or a pastry bag to create kisses for example.

Variation: Add 6 tbsp of cocoa powder into the batter to create sweet chocolate meringues.
