Ingredients

  For the Spiced Liver:
500 g beef liver, cubed
1/2 tsp turmeric
 some salt
1 medium green chili, chopped
1/2 tsp ginger, crushed
2 medium onion, sliced
1 medium tomato, chopped
2 tbsp corn oil
1 tsp tomato puree
 some For the Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage:
500 g red cabbage
onion
1 tbsp vegetable oil
sweet apple
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp apple vinegar
4 piece(s) cloves
  salt and pepper to taste

Spiced Liver:
Cube the liver and fry it in the oil together with the turmeric, salt, chilli and ginger until the meat juices are released and the meat is almost cooked. Add the onions, tomatoes and the puree and turn the heat down to a slow simmer so as not to burn the puree. When onions are transparent the food is ready to serve.

Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage:
Chop onion finely and fry until soft. Shred the cabbage and add it to the onion. Chop the apple and add it in together with the sugar, stirring over low heat for about10 minutes until juices start to run out. Add the cloves, juice, vinegar and salt, and let simmer gently for about 90 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
