Meat Balls with Coconut

Ingredients

130 g desiccated coconut
120 ml boiling water
500 g minced beef
1 tsp corinder seeds, dry roasted and ground
1 tsp cumin seeds, dry roasted and ground
2 tsp salt
1 tsp chilli powder
2 clove(s) garlic, finely chopped
egg, beaten
 some plain flour
 some groundnut oil

Method

Preparation time: ca. 15 min / Grade of difficulty: medium / Calories per portion: n/a

Soak the coconut in boiling water for about 3 minutes.

Mix well together meat, coconut mix, coriander, cumin, salt, chili, garlic and beaten egg.

Divide the meat into evenly walnut sized portions and form into balls. Flatten the balls and dust with flour.

Fry the balls in hot oil for about 5 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

Serve with lemon or lime wedges, to squeeze over.
