Hey fellow cooks,

I am looking for inexpensive recipes that I can warm up easily with the microwave at my university.
So basically food that will still be great or even better after a day or two in the refigerator and doesn´t lose much taste by warming it up. where is...
Maybe you could help me collecting such recipes by posting them here important questionlaughing
Thanks in advance!!!!

Hi Abnimex,

economical and easy to warm up are vegetable stews , pimped with a little sausage or bacon. Or vegetarian - then I like to sprinkle freshly grated cheese on top.

Regards
Heidi

Hey Abnimex,

I think, Heidi is right. Especially potato soups or stews are cheap and taste better the next day. Maybe you can also warm up omlettes, hearty pancakes and rice pudding the next day. YES MAN

I personally like pasta and potato salads a lot and most of the times the salads taste even better on the next day. So enjoy the cooking! Let's cook baby!

Hi Abnimex,

I have put a load of microwave recipes together, most very quick, which I did for a family member in a similar situation to you - I also eat them myself when in a hurry see here

Good eating,

A.

Abnimex,

Not all those recipes are mine, I hasten to add, it is just that mine are included in this selection. Not all of them are quick meals for University either unless you are into making marmalade!

Don't risk warming up rice or rice pudding, very risky, it can form spores that can't be killed by reheating. Lasagna is good to warm up as long as the pasta has been stored separate from the meat sauce. You can risk reheating anything but risk is not worth it if there is a safer way. If the sauce is added to pasta you can freeze it and defrost before cooking. If it is meat in gravy freeze it as soon as it is cold enough so it does not have time to build up bacteria. Keeping any meat in gravy in the fridge is risky so better to freeze. If you freeze in small portions like Chinese takeaway boxes you will save space and have decent portions for one.
