Hi,
I love ginger tea. My Vietnamese shop has an instant tea without any sugar - delicious, and ideal at work. And I love water, just water, apple spritzer and cranberry juice. Cheers, Dorry |

Hi,
it depends, if it can be an alcoholic drink then I love a cold beer, otherwise just sparkling water or cranberry juice with sparkling water. |

Hi,
I join in for tea, hot or iced, with ginger, cardamom or cinnamon. And I like black currant or Riesling spritzer. Cheers, Che |

Hi,
I don't like iced tea... When it's hot I usually make myself a fruit smoothie or an iced latte. It's easy and fast to make. Annamerika |

Hi everybody,
I also mix fruit juice with sparkling water, if only to save on calories. Sure, I'd rather like a fruit smoothie, a milkshake or an iced coffee au lait. But those are exceptions, for a treat. Normally I stick to water, tea or spritzers. Greetz April |

Salutations,
I would have to say it would be my favorite tea bag along with some ginger beer and some lime juice. However if I'm using ginger tea for my ice tea I wouldn't bother with adding the ginger beer, I would just replace the ginger beer another beer that I'm in the mood for that may go well with whatever flavor tea bag I'm using. |

Hi,
why on a hot summer day? ...ok, summer is close and a shot of Vodka with some Cranberryjuice plus some ice cubes would do well... ...but my favorite is the >Dry Martini Cocktail< - stirred - not shaken - all year long Greets TT |

on a hot summer day, I'm all for water, cool, clear water, but in the evening I'll drink a Pastis of some kind, but 1 to 5.
When the Tango bar is open for "Happy Hour" I may order a "Sex on the Beach" Bente |

Hello all,
There's nothing better than a chilled Cider on a hot summer's day! Yum yum! |

There is no better thirst quencher than a cold Pilsener. from Connecticut, LazarusLong |

Hi,
this year my favourite is a cold 'Erdinger alkoholfrei' - wheat beer without alcohol. |
In summertime I love to have an icecold beer, Corona with lime.
Or a dry nice cold white wine. But the best is lukewarm tea. |

Hi Frangi,
See and I thought I was the only one drinking lukewarm tea! *has another big sip of green tea with lemon - lukewarm* |

Hihihi, I drink one and a half litre of tea every day. The first pot is hot, I don't like it that much. I really like it lukewarm, and it is gone by midday.
Cheers and enjoy! |

Hello everybody!!!
Haven't visited cooks united for a while. Sorry!!! As to favourite drinks in the summer: I love a thoroughly chilled white wine or champagne. A delicious non-alcoholic drink is a jug of ice cold water with mint twigs and lemon or lime slices in it. I recommend to leave it in the fridge for half an hour before drinking it. It has a lovely aromatic and fresh taste! |

Hi Angelika,
as it is very hot at the moment at my place, I'll try the cold water with mint and lemon soon. I've got fresh peppermint in my garden. Cheers IKI |

I love ice cold watermelon juice... yummy
Water with some lemon is fine and in the evening I love a glass of red wine with Shwe***-grapefruit mixed. As I do not like white wine, this is my equivalent to white wine spritzer. greets Dia |

Hi Iki,
I hope you liked it. I enjoy it most when I haven't drunk anything for hours and I'm really thirsty @ Dia: What an unusual combination. Can't imagine the red wine with grapefruit. Isn't it a bit bitter ? Another delicious drink: a good old-fashioned Sangria, ice-cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only problem with that is that you get thirstier the more you drink ! Regards, Angelika |

Hi,
today I found ginger powder in an Indian shop. Can I make tea with that? Just wondering, cheers, Dorry |
Hi Dorry,
I think you can make tea with ginger powder. 1 teaspoon to 1 cup boiled water should do. Cheers IKI |

Hi Dorry,
why don't you use ginger tea bags? Twinings has "Lemon & Ginger", very refreshing. There is also "Green Tea with Lemon" and "Lemon Twist". I often make a big jug with a mix of all three. |
Hi Originalzeppi,
I can't get these tea bags here. The only ones I found were awful, the tea tasted like straw. And all other instant teas contain sugar - no thanks... Cheers, Dorry |
Instant tea is pretty awful. Perhaps you could get Twinings tea from an online shop? Are you in Germany?
Check this out. They could let you know were to get that tea.

I also found this Ginger Refresher . It's not exactly cheap but excellent quality. Buderim is just up the road from us, they grow the best ginger.
WOW, so many ideas! Thanks!
I found a new source for my favorite ginger tea, but I will try to find the Twining lemon and ginger. The Buderim sounds good too, but we don't like sweet drinks much - except Ocean Spray cranberry juice. But I would like to try it with Prosecco. And yes, I live in Germany, Berlin, and could check at the famous KaDeWe if they have Twinings, fat chance, I think and hope. Another option for me would be to order it in the US and somebody of the family brings it. Is it available there? Cheers, Dorry |
I'll send you some if you like. It weighs next to nothing, so it wouldn't be a problem getting this to Germany.
That's very
If it's Ok, I would like to come back to your offer when I checked if the KaDeWe has the tea - or not. But we'll leave for a fortnight holiday this weekend, and I can only shop when I am back. Cheers, Dorry |

Well, if you need any, let me know.

OZ,
don´t worry - she´ll get it and even find more alternatives to Twinings there ..as summer is here, I´ll also go for a good cold beer... Greets TT |

She will certainly find it in the US but will have to wait until someone comes to Germany. By then summer might be over

Hi,
thanks for your help! I will get it in 2 weeks, somebody will bring it from the US. I am currently in the South of Germany, enjoying the rain Cheers, Dorry |

Hey there,
I THINK GINGER TEA IS DEFINATELY NOT FOR THE SUMMER. Try it to find out! But my favourite drink on a hot summer's day is definately fresh juice or a frappe! :):) LTAC |

I also like to drink something with ginger like ginger-beer and so on.

Hi,
good that this old thread has been dug out again, as the subject is quite up-to-date. I like cold lemon tea with a sprig of mint in it, fizzy water with apple juice, and as it gets hotter I find fizzy water with lemon and mint the most refreshing. I usually make a jug in the morning. |
Haha, I've seen that this topic is 'up-to-date'
I'm jealous of all who have summer right now! Oz has winter! LTAC |
I suspect Oz Winter is like Summer in many countries!
As for hot day drinks, Elderflower cordial with ice and sparkling water, or plain old iced lager, or half a lemon, (Zest and juice) a couple of teaspoons of sugar and blitz in the food processor with a handful of ice cubes. Now all we need is some summer to drink it with! A. |
