hi, im new here, can anyone recommend a recipe for a "handbag" cake, i didnt think a sponge would be sturdy enough, and i have been asked to make it chocolate

Hi Mandy,

Sorry, but this is a new one on me! I checked our database and there are no handbag cakes in there, so you may have to go onto the internet and do a search, unless one of our expert bakers has a line on one. If you do find a good one, please do put it in the recipes section!

a friend of mine made a handbag cake not so long ago. She said that she referred to this one here.

Hi Mandy,

have a look here . This handbag is a 'Rührkuchen'. Your coul use a simple recipe like this one , but better without fruits.
