Hi, I have never decorated a cake before but want to attempt one for my sons birthday. Could anybody give me any tips on using fondant to ice cakes and make decorations? Also the link is the cake I am hoping to make. If anybody could tell me how achieve the decorations I would be really grateful.

Hi

I have decorated a wedding cake with marzipan. It is easy to form and you can color it easily or buy it already colored.

Hi

Thisisthis is right there are loads of online shops selling great cupcake decorations:

Cupcake Decorations - Cup Cake Sparkle is our favourate. But I know there are others (dont want to look to bias), Cupcake Style and even Waitrose do a few. Make sure you get them to package it well, had some really delicate flowers sent from one company and they arrived crushed. It was for a party the next day.. opps. So I do ask that they assure me they are wrapped well.
Happy baking..

That's really great attempt. I want to say congrats to you. There are several techniques to make the cake With fondant and need to make it carefully. Please follow some tutorial and consult with any bakery experts. All the best. Thank you.

This might help. I'd say, basically just get some ready to roll icing and use it like playdo.

Hi Pritter_glincess, if you are new to cake decorating, and want to make sure you'r cake is a hit, you can always go the easy way, and top you'r cake with edible images. They are lovely, and all you have to do is just design your's online, order it, and place it on the cake when you are ready... You can try this guys: Design a cake online.

Good luck! sticking-out-tongue
