No, I will not have the typical Bavarian Weißwurst Breakfast on Shrove Tuesday. I don't like much those sausages. In my pot already simmers a juicy Viennese goulash .

Yesterday were just leftovers. And apparently nobody else cooked something fresh oi!laughing .

Have a nice day! And not too much I am sooo drunk!I am sooo drunk!

Good morning on this carnival Tuesday silly

Today I'll make a spicy lamb loaf i.e. the oven dish lined with aubergine and the lamb spice with chili, ginger, cumin, garlic etc.
It's a diash I was erved by a good friend ogf mine years ago and today i'll "recreate" it.

Apart from that there will be these pancakes . I'm looking forwar to those. Easy, simple and delicious.

Heidi, I admire you. At 9,30 h in the morning you've got your lunch already simmering ... .

I am curious which lentil soup will our Androcles surprise us with today laughing out loud . Only after he has removed all the bad advertisers from this site,of course. evil smile

Regards from an icy cold windy Spanish Costa Blanca,
Angelika

Angelica, this goulash needs a long time to become perfect. So I started cutting the meat and the onions at 8 this morning.

Androcles, in Munich visitors from other countries usually are treated with Weißwurst and beer at 11 in the morning. Every now and then I eat them too, e.g. at the "Franziskaner" but at home I prefer proper cooking oi! . And much more I like when eating in Munich the "Btratwurstglöckl" with the really good tiny Nürnberger frying sausages. where is... Have you ever been there?

Heidi,

Thank you!! I will have a go at this for certain. I have all the ingredients except I am not sure what are whole wheat rotini?

Have you ever come across a soup made of bits of broken pasta, stale bread, chickpeas or lentils which I seem to remember had a similar name? It was a cucina povera dish in southern Italy.

Best wishes and thanks again. laughing out loudlaughing out loudlaughing out loud

Heidi,

Thanks, I will carry on researching and report back if I find anything - I am sure I saw it in a Cucina Povera cookery book I got from the Library.

Best wishes,

Alexia, unfortunately I don't own a heart shaped pan, but I will make a pancake decoration event with the kids next time when cooking pancakes, inspired by your ideas!

Androcles, pancake toss - when my sons were in the kindergarten, I (as part of the executive commitee of the kindergarten) introduced cooking by the parents for the children instead of feeding them the horrible "meals on wheels" they got before. One father was perfect in tossing the pancakes. My sons remember up till now how they enjoyed it (36 and 38 years old now). By the way, my grandchildren visit the same kindergarten nowadays and still the mothers and fathers cook for the kids. I am quite proud of that!

Androcles,

we would have failed in actually tossing a pancake as shown in that video you linked to. oops...blushingabout to cry No chance. But we didn't do that bad at all I'd say. That heart-shaped pan was quite a challenge in itself. But shhhhhhhh....

Heidi,

the decoration part is the best part. As it is with cupcakes, cakepops, cakes, biscuits etc. Hence, me: sweettooth. hop hop hop

Alexia: The pancakes were absolutely delicious, though I didn't attempt to toss them. That would have been a catastrophe laughing out loudsurely not . And of course I would have liked a heart-shaped pan. I made photos but as I still haven't got a new camera I used my mobile and as I am such a technical freak I don't know yet how to get them onto my computer oops...blushingoh well.

More comments will be found tomorrow in the recipe itself.

And my spicy lamb I will submit as a recipe, as it turned out really good.

Have a nice evening all,
Angelika

Gave up on "2" day and made English Pancakes - batter, circular pancake pan, toss, Sugar and Lemon.

Did really well on the tossing this year, only one on the ceiling, the one on the cooker was a bit difficult to clean off, but the two on the floor scraped off very easily, and with a bit of sugar and lemon, you would never have known........ evil smileevil smile

There was silence except for the sound of happy chomping where is... - "what the eye doesn't see, the heart doesn't grieve over" as Granny used to say. ......

Anyway the thirty second rule applied .......
