Good morning everybody,
for lunch it will be a duck breast, took it just out of the freezer. There are still some peas and as we had rice now for 2 days, I will make a little potato gratin. In the evening we are invited and surely treated with something delicious. Our friend is especially good in cooking starters like tapas or antipasti (I wouldn't need anything else...). Have a nice day! Heidi |

Well, after university I am going to prepare some stuffed bell peppers, before heading out for the theater.
I am not entirely sure about the dessert though. Any suggestions fellow cooks? I heard there are some pudding experts around. |

Lots of experts indeed! Nice one Abnimex! Well, or better: lots of sweet tooths I suppose.
My favourite dessert in winter is Tiramisu. But as you probably know yourself, it tastes best a day after preparation. So for tonight's quick dessert why don't you give my Custard Toffee Cream Dessert a try. It kind of comes close to the Tiramisu style. One word: delicious! And yes, filling. Not for those on a diet. bee |

Hey,
for lunch, I will go to an Italian restaurant with a friend - so no cooking for me For tonight, I will probably go for an omlette and/or a salad. But on the weekend, I am planning to cook Indian food (never done that before). I am really excited how this will turn out. @ Abnimex: why don't you try some yoghurt-based dessert with fruits and chocolate? Not to heavy before going to the theatre and easy to make! Have a great weekend! Kitty |

As it is Burns Night tonight, we will be having Haggis with neeps and tatties as per tradition.
Sadly no whisky as it is still A-free January |

Androcles,
do you have Scottish roots or is Burns night celebrated widely in the UK? Regards Heidi |

My father was born in Scotland, but lots of people in the UK celebrate it whether Scottish or not - another excuse for a party!
McSween Haggis are readily available, even in our Village butchers! My father had a wicked sense of humour and when he saw a very English member of my brother-in-law's family wearing a Kilt as a member of a Scottish Society (in England!), looked at the kilt and said "What Tartan is that - the McFraud, I presume?" Best wishes, A. |

Well I guess a light yoghurt-based dessert would be better for this evening, since it is going to be a long one!
But sunday will be the day of gluttony and I am definetly going to try the Custard Toffee Cream. Looks great. Thanks bee and kitty. |

That´s what i like about the Brits, full of tradition and celebrations.
@ Androcles - Are you serious about having haggis even without a dash of whisky? Why don´t you make an exemption today and start having spirits a day later e. g. february 2nd? Sláinte k. |
