Today we are having an Ox Tail casserole, cooked by the Management. She is very good at casseroles, so something exceptional is expected as usual.
It was a hard choice in the butcher's yesterday between favourites appropriate to the freezing cold snow and ice we have, so although a warming winter casserole was a must, the choice between Stewing beef, Shin Beef, Beef Flank for a Stifado, Neck of Lamb for a Lancashire Hotpot or Irish Stew, Ox Tail or even a chicken casserole was difficult. So onions, leeks, garlic, carrots, swede, and turnip in a beefy stock should do the trick! The aromas are already starting to make the nose twitch........ What is in your Sunday pot? Happy eating, A. |

Hello everybody,
it will be "Wiener Schnitzel", breaded escalopes, today, with oven baked vegetables and cucumber salad. As we are 8 for lunch, I'm occupied with cutting and trimming... See you later Heidi |

Hello all,
I am a bit late today, but I was a bit lazy. I see you've all been eating well on this Sunday. I would have liked to partake in Androcles' ox tail casserole. It makes such a rich taste. Anyway, for lunch I had a salad with a joghurt+mustard+honey dresing. For this evening I've got a chicken breast, but I haven't decided yet what to do with it, something in the wok or maybe a casserole or perhaps a cordon bleu. Have a lovely Sunday evening. Angelika |
